An ode to chocolate

When life has no intention of giving you rest,
And the achievement of your dreams is put to the test,
When you feel like waking up is a form of displeasure,
And you're always stuck with laundry, without any measure,

Just remember you're privileged to be where you are,
Mix a cup of hot chocolate and picture yourself a star.

You'd like to get out of bed, but your back says no,
Someone's slept on your arm, and cut off the bloodflow,
Then you stumble quite badly on a big, sturdy chair,
Yet another wound on your toe, it's a sad old affair,

Just remember you're privileged to be where you are,
Go on, make that cup of chocolate and write it down in your memoir.

So you wanted to wear makeup to feel better about yourself?
It's a shame that your lipstick wasn't placed on a higher shelf.
It's smeared and your mascara's been used to paint a wall,
That small vandal that live with you didn't use to be this tall...

Just remember you're privileged to be where you are,
Drink up that cup of chocolate and get your ass in your car.

Working day's over and it's time to get home,
You're looking forward to hugging your own little gnome,
But someone's screaming bloody murder inside your kitchen,
Or is it just that your food doesn't digest without friction?

Just remember you're privileged to be where you are,
Chocolate makes it all better, so much better by far.
